Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) Opportunity for Public Input

All Minnesota communities that are subject to state stormwater regulations will be inviting the public to share their ideas and opinions on their stormwater pollution prevention program documents for the next 30 days. The document; Chapter 14, of our city code describes how Sauk Rapids will manage and reduce pollutants in their stormwater runoff.  The comment period will be open for 30 days. 

Minimum control measure 1: Public outreach education and outreach: goal is to teach the public about better stormwater management.

Sauk Rapids has pooled its resources with other nearby cities, townships and watersheds.  CMWEA’s (Central MN Water Education Alliance)  goal is to educate the public on stormwater.  https://h2youmn.com/

Minimum control measure 2: Public participation: Include residents in solving stormwater pollution problems. 

. Provide an opportunity for the public to provide input on the stormwater pollution prevention program (SWPPP).

  • Provide access to the public to view the SWPPP document, Annual Reports, and other documentation related to the SWPPP.
  • Consider public input.
  • Document activities, as described
